    • The Distinctively Healthy Church from the CRC Connections Project at Crossroads Fellowship in Des Moines
      • You are invited to a one day learning event focused on helping your church find unique yet practical ideas that can bring health and growth to your congregation. This event is put on by the newly formed CRC Connections Project aimed at supporting the local church by connecting them to resources and to each other. We will be hosted by Crossroads Fellowship in Des Moines, IA on January 14. Keynote speaker is Rev. Chris DeVos from Ridder Church Renewal. This event is for church members and pastors alike. There is a $35 individual registration fee ($25 individual with group of 4) and includes lunch and materials. Hotel rooms are available, but will need to register by December 30 for reduced rate.   • Poinsettia Orders: As is tradition, the PCHS Music Department will be selling poinsettias for this holiday season. Order forms are available from any PCHS band or choir student and in the school office. Five different colors are available at a cost of $12.50 per plant. Orders must be placed by Tuesday, November 22 and picked up on Monday, November 28, between 2-5 PM.
  • It is time for the Annual Financial Drive for Pella Christian High School. The purpose of this drive is to support the general fund of the school. The goal for this year’s drive is $75,000. We are asking you to prayerfully consider a gift to the school by December 31. You should have received or will soon receive a letter either via postal mail or at church explaining the drive. Donation can be sent directly to the school office at 300 Eagle Lane or given to any board member. Thank you for your ongoing support of the mission of PCHS.

    • 7-8 PM – Holiday Grief presentation with speaker Lynn Ochiltree at St. Mary’s Parish Center (301 High Avenue E.) in Oskaloosa
      • You are invited to attend a presentation entitled “Holiday Grief”. This program is for anyone who has had a death, and those care givers who offer support to the bereaved. Lynn Ochiltree will be the presenter. Lynn will discuss how grief impacts daily life; discuss coping skills to utilize during the Holidays; and identify why grief seems more intense during the Holidays. The program is sponsored by the Bates Funeral Chapel. The program is free of charge and open to the public. There will be refreshments following. C.E.U.’s offered. We have invited Aaron and Nicole Baart to teach about reclaiming our Godly sexuality. There will also be an extended time of healing prayer. No registration necessary.   • Oskaloosa Christian School is looking to fill 2 aide positions:
    • 7th Grade Student Aide: This position will involve working with a 7th grade student for about 25 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
    • Lower Elementary Aide: This position will involve working across a number of classrooms in our lower elementary school for about 30 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
    • A teaching certificate is not needed for either position, but a love for kids and a desire to help them learn and grow in the Lord is required.   • Franklinton, Louisiana Needs Help! The area had flood damage recently, World Renew will have a work/mission trip January 7-14, 2017 to do reconstruction in homes. We need your response by December 3, 2016 because there is now additional paperwork that needs to be completed 4-5 weeks prior to leaving.       • Bluegrass & BBQ is set to be a FUN, toe-tapping evening. You will enjoy a BBQ dinner and your toes will tap as you listen to the banjo picking and sweet harmonies by the Petersens, a Family Bluegrass Band from Branson! Bluegrass and BBQ is a fundraiser for the PCHS Band Trip in April 2017 to the Dordt Band Festival and Omaha. Tickets are available for $25 on the band website band.pellachristian.net or the high school office.

    • 6 PM – Festival of Tables at Ebenezer Reformed Church
      • We will plan to begin at 6 PM this year and eat at 6:15. Our program is the Pella Children’s Choir directed by Joe Tangen. Due to the age of the children, we want them to be able to complete their performance early. Tickets will go on sale soon for $10. I will have a ticket sale date soon.   • Oskaloosa Christian School is looking to fill 2 aide positions:
    • 7th Grade Student Aide: This position will involve working with a 7th grade student for about 25 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
    • Lower Elementary Aide: This position will involve working across a number of classrooms in our lower elementary school for about 30 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
    • A teaching certificate is not needed for either position, but a love for kids and a desire to help them learn and grow in the Lord is required. If you or anyone you know is interested in these positions, application forms are available on our website (www.oskaloosachristian.net) or in our school office.   • Franklinton, Louisiana Needs Help! The area had flood damage recently, World Renew will have a work/mission trip January 7-14, 2017 to do reconstruction in homes. We need your response by December 3, 2016 because there is now additional paperwork that needs to be completed 4-5 weeks prior to leaving.
